Oil Cleansing Method
Innerglow Spa’s Oil Cleansing Method is great for all skin types, and men love it too! If you have acne you’re probably “oil phobic”, I know I was. There’s no way anyone could have told me, suffering with acne for over 25 years, to put oil on MY skin! But after becoming a Licensed Aesthetician in 2003, and working with Jean D’Arcel SkIncare (a wonderful 50 year old German skincare line), JDA came out with an Oil Cleanser last year which was a part of a new doctor formulated line.
After talking to JDA about this new cleanser and how to use it, I decided to give it a try. I loved it the very first time! My skin completely clean and polished with no oily residue left behind. The JDA Oil Cleanser is a 2 in 1 system. First, thoroughly massage the oil onto the skin, making sure your pores are completely saturated. It’s important to remember that oil dissolves oil. Good oil helps dissolve and release dirt and bacteria gently and effectively. After you massage your skin, add a tiny amount of water to your finger tips and continue to massage/cleanse. By adding a small amount of water the oil will then turn into a thick, creamy milk-like consistency. This is the magic of the JDA cleanser. Now take a warm wet washcloth and gently wipe away in an upward motion. Rinse cloth and repeat if necessary.
Everytime I use this cleanser in the spa my clients can see and feel the difference immediately. It almost looks like they had a complete facial after the first cleanse. Most all of my clients are completely hooked and are surprised about how long it lasts too.
Most European women are known to have beautiful skin, and the main reason is they typically do not wash their face with water, but instead use nourishing, quality oils. In America we have been sold on lots of foam. Remember foam is obtained by chemicals, and these chemical strip the natural oils from our skin and cause more problems. So pamper and care for your skin the right way…and try a quality oil cleanser…You’ll love it, I promise!
How to Pop a Pimple
Only extract a pimple at night, after you have properly cleansed your face and softened the skin. Also a good idea if there is any swelling to do this at night. I strongly recommend cleansing with a quality Oil cleanser. More about this later.
Once you have cleansed your skin, wrap your index fingers with kleenex and get under the pimple as much as possible. With a rocking, side to side motion, gently squeeze. It is very important that you don’t squeeze too hard. If it’s not ready, just leave it! If you squeeze too hard you risk rupturing the follicle from below and spreading the “infection.” This is why pimples become bigger and redder and last longer. This is a common mistake.
Remember to be kind to your skin and treat it gently. Lot’s of water, a good diet and plenty rest definitely helps.

Acne and Skin Picking
If you suffer from acne, skin picking is a huge No No! Touching your face in general is not good, but if especially if you have acne…this will make the problem much worse. Drinking lots of water, staying away from greasy foods and less stress are good ways to help your skin clear from within, but you need to be aware of how touching and picking increase your chances of additional breakouts and scarring. Every time you touch your face you are spreading germs. You could have just touched a phone, a doorknob, or money, then you touch your face. Yuck. You get the point.
Now when it comes to picking, I understand that you just want to squeeze or pick your acne away, but you know this doesn’t work and makes the problem worse. So my challenge to you is to commit to not touching or picking your acne for 2 weeks straight. After 2 weeks you’ll be surprised how much clearer your skin is, and after 2 weeks of no touching you will have probably kicked the habit for good. Hope this helps.
